Senate - the first cam of the bicameral legislature

 

US Senators serve a six year term. Senators may be re-elected an unlimited amount of times.  Senators must be US citizens and residents, for at least 9 years, of the state they represent, and be at least 30 yrs old.
Each State gets TWO Senators. The correct job Title is US Senator.

Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa is the current longest serving US Senator

Sen Grassley started serving the people of Iowa in 1981.

 

When being recognized in Senate sessions, he was simply referred to as THE Senator; whereas as all other Senators are called, "The Senator from ____."

The longest serving Senator ever is Senator Byrd from UT who served for over 51 years.
